Information about cookies

How we work with cookies

We use cookies mainly to improve the functionality and performance of our website and their purpose is to make it easier and more enjoyable for you to use our website. By visiting our website, you consent to the use of this technology in accordance with the options and settings that we provide and inform you about, and you can change your decision regarding the collection of cookies at any time by using the individual cookie settings of specific advertising or analytics systems, or reject all cookies through the relevant settings of your browser. Detailed information about cookies and your options for setting them can be found in the document below.

  1. What is a “cookie”

A cookie is a short text file that is sent to your browser by the websites you visit. It allows websites to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language and other settings. This can make your next visit to the site easier and more productive. Cookies are important. Without them, browsing the web would be much more difficult.

  1. Why we use cookies

Most websites, including our company’s website, use cookies. The purpose of cookies is to make it easier and more convenient for you to use our site. By visiting our site, you automatically consent to the use of this technology.

You can change your decision at any time by setting individual cookies for specific advertising or analytics systems, or you can reject all cookies via the relevant browser settings.

  1. Processing of cookies

What kind of cookies we use:

  • Temporary cookies – used, for example, after logging in to a service to identify the user for the duration of the login. Without these cookies, some services may not work at all or their functionality may be limited. Temporary cookies are automatically deleted when the browser is switched off.
  • Persistent cookies – (third-party cookies – analytical and advertising use): they remain stored in the browser for longer (the longest cookie is valid for a maximum of two years from the last visit), even after the computer has been switched off. These cookies are therefore used to improve the user experience when using online services or for statistical or advertising purposes. These cookies may contain an anonymous identifier of your browser.

Even persistent cookies do not identify you as an individual per se, they only identify access to the site and the behaviour of users accessing it from a specific device (computer, tablet, smartphone). All data is anonymous.

Permanent cookies collected by our website include in particular:

  • Analytical cookies

These are primarily cookies relating to visits, cookies analysing the origin of the visit, cookies relating to the performance of the website, statistical or analytical cookies. Analytical cookies are designed to recognise repeat visits to our website from the same browser on the same device and to track visitors’ browsing activities.

These cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and sources of traffic so that we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us understand if you have had any problems or error messages from certain pages so that we know which pages are the most and least popular and also how visitors move around the site, which helps us to tailor and improve our site to make it more useful, to make it more intuitive to navigate for an overall more positive online browsing experience for our users.

Analytical/performance cookies are not deleted when you close your browser and are therefore permanently stored on your computer or device.

  • Tracking (advertising) cookies

These cookies help us to track your visits and activity on our website, the individual pages you have visited and the links you have followed. They allow us to link each visit to information that the anonymous visitor has voluntarily provided about themselves. We use this information to tailor our website and the content displayed on it as closely as possible to your interests.

Advertising cookies allow targeted advertising to be displayed on websites participating in the advertising system. Advertising targeting is based on the anonymous behaviour of the user or group of users on the website.

Tracking (advertising) cookies are not deleted when you close your browser and are therefore permanently stored on your computer or device.

  • Technical cookie required to keep track of user consent

These cookies are used to keep track of your consent to the use of tracking (advertising) cookies.

Technical cookies are not deleted when you close your browser and are therefore permanently stored on your computer or device.

  • Single session cookies versus persistent cookies

Single session cookies are temporary and are deleted as soon as the browser is closed, whereas persistent cookies are longer lasting because they are stored on your computer. They are not deleted when you close your browser. For example, we use them to remember your preferences for your next visit.

  • First party cookies versus third party cookies

First party cookies are set by the website you are visiting. And only that website can read them.

Third-party cookies are installed by someone other than the owner of the website with the consent of the owner of the website you are visiting in order to collect certain information to conduct various behavioral, demographic, and similar research.

For more information on how we handle these cookies, please see “Third Party Cookies – Third Party Technologies We Use” below.

  • Analytics cookies – Google Analytics

Google Analytics is an analytics tool that helps website and app owners understand how their visitors use these resources. It is possible to use cookies to collect information and statistics about website usage without personally identifying individual visitors to Google. The main cookie used by Google Analytics is the__ga file.

In addition to reporting on website usage statistics, Google Analytics can be used in conjunction with some of the ad cookies described above to serve more relevant ads on Google properties and on the web, as well as to measure interactions with the ads served.

Read more about Google Analytics cookies and privacy.

Please see below for a list of the analytics/performance cookies we use on our website:

Cookie type  Function / Purpose  Retention  time
_gid  Google Analytics for statistical purposes  1 day
_gat  Google Analytics for statistical purposes  10 minutes
_ga  Google Analytics for statistical purposes  2 years

Google Analytics (GA) is a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. This service provides statistics on an aggregated and therefore anonymous basis regarding visitors to our website.

These cookies do not collect information that can individually identify visitors. We only collect general information about your computer settings, your Internet connection, such as your operating system and platform, your browsing patterns, and your interaction with our site. The information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. However, you may choose to change your browser settings. Please see the section below ‘How do I change my cookie settings? If you do not allow these cookies, we will not be able to monitor the performance of the site.

You can refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser or by opting out of Google Analytics cookies here:

We also use cookies to make ads more appealing to users and to offer owners and advertisers better terms for advertising. Cookies are commonly used to select ads based on what is relevant to users, to improve campaign performance reports, and to prevent a user from being shown ads they have already seen.

We also use one or more cookies for advertisements displayed throughout the site. One of the main cookies for ads on non-Google sites is called “IDE” and is stored in browsers under the domain doubleclick.net. Another is stored in the google.com domain and is called ANID. We also use other cookies, such as DSID, FLC, AID, TAID and exchange_uid. These cookies may also be used by other Google-owned services, such as YouTube, to serve more relevant ads.

Cookies for advertisements can sometimes be set on the domain of the website you are visiting. For ads displayed on the web, cookies called “__gads” or “__gac” may be set in the domain of the website you are visiting. Unlike cookies set in Google’s own domains, Google can only read these cookies on the pages where they have been set. For example, they are used to measure interactions with ads on a given domain and prevent the same ads from being shown too often.

Google also uses various conversion cookies. Their main purpose is to help advertisers see how many of the users who clicked on an advert ended up buying a product. Thanks to these cookies, Google’s systems and advertisers are able to recognize that you clicked on an ad and later went to the advertiser’s website. Google does not use conversion cookies to target personalised ads and they are only stored on your computer for a limited time. A cookie called “Conversion” is designed for this purpose. It is generally set in the domain googleadservices.com or google.com. Some other cookies may also be used to measure conversion events. For example, DoubleClick and Google Analytics cookies can also be used for this purpose.

If you don’t want the ads you see to be coordinated across your devices, you can disable ad customisation in Ads Settings.

  • Managing cookies in the browser

Some people do not wish to store cookies. For this reason, the latest browsers allow users to manage cookies according to their needs.

Some browsers restrict or remove cookies. You should therefore check your cookie settings and ad settings. Some browsers allow you to set site-specific cookie management rules to give you more control over your privacy. You can disable the storage of cookies from all websites except those you trust.

Another feature of browsers is incognito mode. Incognito mode can be used when browsing when you don’t want your visits or downloads to a website to be recorded in your browsing and download history. Cookies created in incognito mode are deleted when all incognito mode windows are closed.

The user can also deactivate cookies from third party suppliers by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative‘s cookie deactivation page.
