Penta Hospitals CZ Expands Its Educational Activities, Completes Acquisition of the College of Nursing

Penta Hospitals CZ has signed an agreement on the transfer of founding rights of the College of Nursing (Vysoká škola zdravotnická, o.p.s.), thereby expanding its educational support activities within healthcare professions. The acquisition follows the Group’s long-term strategy to actively contribute to addressing the critical shortage of healthcare personnel in the Czech Republic and to systematically strengthen the connection between education and clinical practice.

“Healthcare is built on people, and we are pleased to welcome the College of Nursing to our Group. This step opens up opportunities to create natural synergies between education and clinical practice. Enhancing the attractiveness of healthcare professions and developing high-quality staff are key priorities for us,” said Ing. Barbora Vaculíková, MBA, CEO of Penta Hospitals CZ.

The Prague-based College of Nursing is a significant educational institution in non-medical healthcare fields. It is attended by more than one thousand students and offers four accredited Bachelor’s degree programmes – General Nursing, Midwifery, Emergency Medical Services and Physiotherapy. Teaching is delivered by numerous renowned experts, physicians and university-educated nurses.

The school places strong emphasis on practical training, providing students with direct contact with their future profession. Based on bilateral agreements, students complete professional internships in more than 30 accredited healthcare facilities in Prague and beyond. The College of Nursing is represented in the Czech Rectors Conference and the Council of Higher Education Institutions.

“We see the entry of a strong healthcare partner as an opportunity to further develop our mission and prepare qualified healthcare professionals for the Czech labour market. Joining forces with a strong partner such as Penta Hospitals CZ will allow us to link education with clinical practice even more closely and systematically strengthen staffing stability in healthcare facilities,” said Ing. František Kunc, Ph.D., Director of the College of Nursing.

The Group’s entry into higher education is the result of long-term cooperation between the school and Penta Hospitals, which, together with the City of Sokolov and the current Governor Petr Kubis, established the Sokolov branch of the College. The branch already educates nurses and paramedics in the Karlovy Vary region. The College of Nursing will naturally complement Penta Hospitals’ existing educational activities and projects, including the Secondary Medical School in Mělník and the Penta Hospitals Academy training system. Penta Hospitals CZ thus actively connects education with clinical practice to strengthen long-term healthcare accessibility across the Czech Republic.

Penta Hospitals CZ is part of Penta Hospitals International, the largest healthcare holding in Central Europe. In the Czech Republic, Penta Hospitals CZ operates 17 acute and follow-up care hospitals and a network of 54 specialised centres for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. It also includes dozens of general and specialist outpatient clinics across the country as well as home healthcare services. The Group employs more than 12,000 people. The holding is owned by the Penta investment group.
